University Student Union’s computer lab soon to be study area

University Student Union’s facilities and commercial services committee finalized discussions on plans to turn their computer lab into a technology-friendly lounge and study area for students, Monday. “We have our concrete ideas,” said Sabrina Lockey, chair of the committee. “We have our plan. The California Faculty Association will soon vote to strike

The California Faculty Association across all 23 CSU campuses will potentially take part in the largest strike in higher education history, according to a recent press release. Governor proposes two-year welfare limit in new budget plan

Gov. Jerry Brown proposed a two-year limit for those under welfare in his new budget plan. Brown’s 2012-13 budget plan, released in January, features a removal of $12.5 billion from spending, including a reduction of $1.5 billion from California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS). Volunteers from CSUN’s Jumpstart program promote literacy at Pacoima Library

In an effort to promote literacy among children, the Jumpstart program at CSUN implemented a program where volunteers read to young students every other Friday at Pacoima Library.
